HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR EXTENSIONS:

Shampooing/Conditioning
Before shampooing hair, brush to separate extensions.
Always shampoo standing upright, using a Raking motion, this will help minimize matting. Don’t pull hair.
Massage shampoo under extensions. Try not to tangle extensions when massaging. Do not use Volumizing, clarifying, dandruff, or color care shampoos; this will open the cuticle layer and cause matting. Shampoo only near the scalp.  If you shampoo the ends it will strip the oil from hair and may cause matting.
Rinse out shampoo. Apply conditioner away from the bonds.
Rinse out conditioner. Towel dry, pat do not rub. Spray in a leave in conditioner. It is important to Deep Condition your hair extensions at least once a week with a salon grade product.

Styling
Always use a leave in conditioner.
Do not detangle when you hair is wet- your hair is the weakest when wet. Blow dry using your hands until 90% dry. Use a 100% boar bristle brush, or a nylon brush to detangle.
When flat ironing keep away from the bonds, it can soften and distort them causing them to fall out.
Mouse and other smoothing products are ok to use!

Swimming
NOT RECOMMENDED
IF YOU CHOOSE TO, YOUR HAIR  EXTENSIONS MAY BECOME DAMAGED!
IF YOU DO, SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Wet your hair and apply leave in conditioner, then
pull in a braid or ponytail or swim cap.
Always shampoo and condition after, do not let your hair air dry.

Sleeping
Brush hair and scalp before sleeping to remove any tangles.
If hair is long, braid it before sleeping.
Silk pillowcases will reduce matting, but is not required
Never sleep with your hair wet

Coloring
Only color your hair with your stylist recommendations.
You must use a professional color line.

Other Information
Regularly brush hair and scalp using a natural 100% boar bristle or
nylon brush only. Do not use an uncovered elastic band.
On average you loose 75-100 hairs a day from the natural shedding process. It is common for strands to fall out during the duration you have you extensions, keep them and they will be put back in when you get your extensions retightened.
Every 4-8 weeks your extensions need to be retightened, this is
important since on average most peoples hair grows a ½ inch a month. Retightening will prevent loss of extensions and matting.
